Open to Staff & Group PM roles

Hi, I'm Amanda.

Group Product Manager · Data platforms, ML systems & communities

I build products by starting with the people who use them, then using data to keep earning their trust.

I started my career in a lab, and I still think like a scientist. Most recently I was a Group PM at Walmart Data Ventures, where I joined the founding team and led Customer Spark, the exclusive shopper community behind Walmart's consumer research platform.

What the lab taught me

Six years in pharma research taught me that a failed result is still a result. I run roadmaps the same way.

  1. ObserveRead the data and the customer feedback until the real problem shows up.
  2. HypothesizeName the bet, and the metric that proves it wrong.
  3. ShipBuild the smallest thing that tests it.
  4. Measure & iterateKeep what moves the number. Learn from what doesn't.

What I built at Walmart

I joined the founding team at Walmart Data Ventures and helped launch Scintilla, our insights suite for suppliers. Then I took over Customer Spark, the community of verified shoppers on the other side. Here are a few things I'm proud of.

ML · Data quality

Making trust the backbone of the platform

Problem

Suppliers were paying for survey responses that sometimes held gibberish, then cleaning their data by hand.

Shipped

Real-time ML models that remove nonsense, profane and irrelevant answers before suppliers see them, on a re-architected, event-based platform.

Engagement · Generative AI

Weekly Quests: a reason to come back

Problem

Members missed surveys and had little reason to open the app.

Shipped

Fun weekly micro-surveys that earn points, later written by AI. They also became a new source of customer insight.

Recruitment · Modeling

Growing the right community

Problem

Grow the panel with verified shoppers who fit the criteria suppliers rely on, keeping out fraud and bots.

Shipped

A likelihood-to-join model, a waitlist that checks eligibility in real time, and sharper outreach.

3xconversion
150%+growth
<1%annual churn
Member support

Fewer tickets, faster help

Problem

Many support tickets had nothing to do with Spark.

Shipped

Member verification on ticket submission, plus clearer FAQs for common issues.

Leadership
Advocate. Unblock. Uplift.

That's how I lead. As a Group PM, I managed two product managers.

Advocate

I bring my team into the rooms they're not in. I showcase their work and open doors to visibility and new opportunities.

Unblock

I help them make critical decisions and clear what's in the way, so their products keep moving.

Uplift

I invest in team chemistry and culture. People come first, and everyone should feel free to be their authentic self at work.

About me

A little about me

I'm a Los Angeles native, born and raised. I studied biology at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and spent six years in pharma research before I found product. It turned out to be the best of both worlds: the experiments I loved, with people at the center. Along the way I earned my MBA at the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, concentrating in marketing analytics.

When I'm not working, you'll find me reading, powerlifting or watching a horror movie. I also volunteer with animal rescues and Thrive Scholars.
